In early July, the PHOTOPLANT team returned to the Bruno Peyronel Alpine Botanical Garden, in the heart of the Cottian Alps, to officially kick off data collection for the 2025 summer season.

During the mission, the team carried out the first phenological and physiological surveys on the experimental swards, focusing on key alpine species such as Bistorta vivipara, Salix retusa, and several graminoids. New data loggers were installed for microclimatic monitoring, alongside maintenance and calibration of existing field equipment.

This marks an important first step in a research season that promises valuable insights into how alpine plants respond to changing environmental conditions!
