PHOTOPLANT project final event: research meets the public
On Friday, February 27, coinciding with the project's closing, a public outreach conference was held, where the PHOTOPLANT project team presented the results of the experiment.
The review article: Photoperiod–Temperature Interactions in a Changing Climate: A Review of Plant Phenological Responses was published online on 13 December 2025 in the international journal Journal of Biogeography.
In early July, the PHOTOPLANT team returned to the Bruno Peyronel Alpine Botanical Garden, in the heart of the Cottian Alps, to officially kick off data collection for the 2025 summer season.
7-11 April 2025: 5th Mediterranean Plant Conservation Week (MPCW)
From April 7th to 11th, 2025, Dr. Martina Tarascio represented the PHOTOPLANT project at the international conference in Limassol (Cyprus) focused on the conservation of plant biodiversity in the Mediterranean basin.
5-7 February 2025: Conference of Young BOtanists (CYBO2025)
rom February 5th to 7th, 2025, in Genova, the conference for young botanists took place. This biennial event provides early-career researchers with the opportunity to enter the academic world, share their work, and connect with new research and colleagues
From August 26 to 29, 2024, the final phase of collecting and transporting the swards needed to complete the common garden, the heart of the experiments planned for the project, was concluded.
In the heart of the Arctic, amidst pristine landscapes and extreme conditions, an important scientific mission took place at the "Dirigibile Italia" research station of the CNR Institute of Polar Sciences in Ny-Ålesund.
On July 16, 2024, an important mission took place at the Bruno Peyronel Alpine Botanical Garden in the municipality of Bobbio Pellice (TO), which, at 2,290 meters above sea level, holds the record as the highest Alpine Botanical Garden in Europe.
