Description of the event

From April 7th to 11th, 2025, the 5th Mediterranean Plant Conservation Week took place in Limassol (Cyprus), bringing together experts from 27 countries dedicated to the conservation of plant biodiversity in the Mediterranean.

Dr. Martina Tarascio represented the PHOTOPLANT project, presenting a poster titled “Photic Barriers to Plant Migration in the Mediterranean: Implications for Assisted Migration Strategies under Climate Change,” highlighting how the interaction between photoperiod and temperature can influence plants’ ability to adapt to climate change.
The conference was an important opportunity for exchange and collaboration among researchers and institutions committed to safeguarding plant diversity in the Mediterranean region.
